About the Mangalavanam Bird Sanctuary

Mangalavanam Bird Sanctuary is located in the heart of the vibrant city of Kochi, spread over an area of ​​2.74 hectares. Consists of 18-acre mangroves that are the accommodation of 17 species of butterflies, 51 species of spiders, and 6 species of mammals.

There is a shallow tidal lake in the middle of the Bird Sanctuary which is surrounded by dense mangrove vegetation and connected to the backwaters of Kochi by a canal. is one of the most popular destinations for tourists and ornithologists.
