- By Road: The Chintamani Kar Bird sanctuary is near Rathtola, and Rajpur Kalitala bus stops. If you are coming from Howrah, take Howrah-Harinavi Direct Bus to Rathtala or Rajpur Kalitala bus stops, then from the bus stop, go to the sanctuary from the local car.
- By Train: Chintamoni Kar Bird Sanctuary is located in the South 24-Parganas district, The nearest train station to the Sanctuary is Sonarpur Station on the Sealdah-Diamond Harbor line. After reaching the Sonarpur station, from Sealdha Station, take a Taxi or any local car to reach the gate of the sanctuary
- By Flight: If you are coming from long by flight, you have to take off at Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Airport at Dumdum. Then, you can either Rent a Taxi to reach the sanctuary direct or, you can go to sealdah station and take the train to Sonarpur. And from there, visit the main gate of the Sanctuary by Local Car.

Traveling Tips while exploring the Bird Sanctuary
1. No Facility for Picnic here:
The picnic at this sanctuary is restricted. So, stop thinking of doing a Picnic here. You can bring bottled water to the sanctuary but no food items are allowed here. Because the many people spread the Plastic Packet of Food items. This sanctuary is about preserving the landscape of the primitive forest.
2. Do not Disturb the surroundings of the Sanctuary:
I have highly advised the Visitors should not disturb birds or other wildlife under any circumstances. This includes refraining from touching the plants and trees present here. In addition, It is also recommended that do not chase birds while taking pictures. and do not go near any house.
3. Do not visit during the Monsoon season:
The climate of Kolkata is very sunny and humid. In the rainy season, from mid-June to September, there is heavy rainfall happens in West Bengal. And, In the rain, it is very tough to explore the sanctuary and see the birds. That’s why I am advising you to do not to visit the Sanctuary in Rainy Season.
