Machranga Island or Kingfisher Island is a small island in the middle of the Ichhamati River and Bhasa River near the town of Taki and Hasnabad in the North 24 Parganas of West Bengal. Bangladesh is on one side of Machranga Dweep and India on the other.

Machranga Island is spread over 129 acres of land and is an isolated one. This desolate island is covered with green and is considered ideal for a fun day trip. You can rent a local boat to reach Mashranga Dweep from Hasnabad or Taki.

It is advisable to visit Island in the evening, as it will present you with a cool breeze and sunset in the evening, while the mornings on Machranga Island are great.

How to reach Machranga Island 

There are only 2 ways to reach  Machranga Island, One is By Train and another is by Road.

Train: The nearest place to Maasranga Dweep is Hasnabad and Taki. First, you have to take the Hasnabad Local train from Sealdah Station, you need to take it down to Taki Road Station or Hasnabad Station. After reaching the station, you need to take Toto and Van to reach the Ferry Ghat and from there you can rent a boat to reach the exact spot.

Road: You need to take the bus Taki Road from Barasat or Dharmatala, which has stopped at Basirhat. And, from Basirhat, you have to take the bus, auto or any car to reach Hasnabad City. And from there you need to book or rent a Ferry to reach the spot.

To stay at the place and spend one night is a fun idea. Typically, If you want to stay in a hotel, there are several options available. Hasnabad Municipality has arranged an amazing guest house for guests to stay and stay. There are many hotels and guest houses in this area with very reasonable houses. By the way, I am saying to stay and Taki or Hasnabad town, there are no hotels and guests on the exact spot.
